Thigh lift in Malaga

Thigh lift surgery corrects excess skin on the inner thigh following weight loss or ageing, improving the contour safely and permanently. At Clínica Giraldo, we combine precise resection and, if necessary, complementary liposuction to achieve a natural result. Book your consultation and we will explain the best option for you.

If sagging or excess skin on the inner thigh is limiting you, a thigh lift corrects the area by removing excess skin and, when appropriate, combining it with liposuction for a firmer contour.

At our clinic in Malaga, we plan each case individually, using techniques that minimise scarring and accompanying you from the initial consultation through to follow-up appointments to ensure safety and natural results.

What is cruroplasty, or thigh lift?

A thigh lift (cruroplasty) removes excess skin and fat from the inner thigh to restore a firmer, more proportionate contour, often following weight loss or ageing. The technique combines, if necessary, liposuction and skin resection through discreet incisions in the groin crease or along the inner thigh. It is usually performed under general or epidural anaesthesia; in some cases, an overnight stay for observation is recommended.

Post-operative care includes bandages and compression stockings, relative rest and avoiding exertion for 2–4 weeks; swelling may take several months to subside. At Clínica Giraldo, we plan each procedure individually, explaining the risks, care and realistic expectations in order to achieve natural and long-lasting results. Characteristics of cruroplasty

Duration of the intervention

Between 2 and 3 hours of surgery in most cases. The duration varies depending on the extent of the skin resection and whether complementary liposuction is added.

Type of anaesthesia

General (or epidural depending on anaesthetic assessment and clinical preference). The anaesthesia team will decide on the safest option during the preoperative consultation.

Admission

It usually requires an overnight stay for post-operative monitoring; in more limited cases, same-day surgery may be considered at the doctor's discretion.

Recovery and results

Rest for 1–2 weeks with compression garment/stockings; avoid exertion for 3–4 weeks. Initial results ≈1 month. Light diet and hydration; no alcohol or tobacco. Follow the aftercare instructions and attend check-ups.

Stages of pubic liposuction

1.

Consultation and personalised plan

First, we assess your case during a consultation: we examine your skin, tissue volume and quality, take photographs, and determine the most appropriate technique (liposuction alone or combined with skin resection). We explain the options, the likely location of scars, and the expected results, with no surprises.

2.

Preparation and anaesthesia

Before the operation, we carry out the necessary tests (blood tests, ECG if applicable) and give you clear guidelines on medication, diet and habits. The type of anaesthesia is decided according to the scope of the procedure (regional or general), always with your safety and comfort in mind.

3.

Surgical procedure

In the operating theatre, we mark and operate with precision: if necessary, we first aspirate fat to improve the contour and then remove excess skin, tightening the tissues. We close with careful sutures and, if necessary, place temporary drains. The procedure usually lasts 2–3 hours, depending on its complexity.

4.

Immediate postoperative period

You will leave wearing a compression garment and under clinical supervision; hospitalisation is usually 24 hours when necessary. We monitor pain, inflammation and proper healing with early check-ups and practical recommendations for home care.

5.

Recovery and follow-up

Recovery is gradual: light activity within days, avoid strenuous activity for 3–4 weeks. The swelling subsides within weeks and initial results are visible after a month; we monitor your progress with scheduled check-ups until you reach final stability.

Benefits of cruroplasty

R

Less chafing and discomfort: Removes excess skin that causes friction, reducing irritation and pain when walking or playing sports.

R

More defined thigh contour: we reshape the silhouette to achieve a more even inner line that is proportional to the rest of your body.

R

Improved skin tone: by tightening and repositioning tissues, the treated area appears firmer and more youthful.

R

Greater freedom of movement: by reducing excess skin, you will notice less limitation and more comfort in your daily activities.

R

Safety and practical well-being: stable results that facilitate hygiene and self-care, and that often translate into greater confidence without drastic changes.

Who is a thigh lift for: ideal candidates

R

Excess skin and sagging: ideal if your thighs have excess skin or loss of tone that does not improve with exercise.

R

After significant weight loss: patients who have lost a lot of weight and suffer from sagging skin that affects their comfort and appearance.

R

Stable weight: maintaining weight for months improves the predictability of results.

R

Good health and non-smoker: candidates without medical conditions that could complicate surgery and willing to avoid tobacco for better healing.

R

Realistic expectations: seek to improve form and function; understand that the procedure refines the contour, it does not replace a healthy lifestyle.

Preguntas frecuentes de la reducción de pecho

Will I need help at home during the first few days?

Yes. We recommend that someone accompany you for the first 24–48 hours after discharge to assist with movement, medication, and travel; after that, most patients manage relatively independently.

What exactly does the procedure involve?

The area is marked and, depending on the case, liposuction is combined with skin resection. Incisions are usually made in the groin crease and/or on the inner thigh; sutures are applied using techniques that minimise tension. The procedure is usually performed under anaesthesia (general or regional) and lasts around 2–3 hours.

Will I lose sensitivity in the area?

Temporary numbness may occur on the inner thigh; this usually resolves within weeks or months. In rare cases, sensory disturbance may persist longer.

Where will the scars be and will they be very noticeable?

We aim to place them in natural folds (groin, gluteal fold) or on the inner side so that they are discreet. With care and anti-scarring treatment, the lines tend to fade over time, although it must be assumed that scars will remain.

Can I combine it with liposuction, abdominoplasty, or other procedures?

Yes. It is common to combine cruroplasty with liposuction or abdominoplasty when it is desirable to improve the overall contour. During the consultation, we assess risks, operating theatre times and priority of results in order to plan the best option.

Are the results permanent?

The removal of skin and fat is permanent, but the results depend on maintaining a stable weight and a healthy lifestyle; natural ageing can change the skin over the years. At the first consultation, we will explain what to expect in the long term based on your individual case.
